Full Job Description
West Yorkshire Police, the lead Force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (YatH RSSS), is looking to recruit several Lead Quality Representatives to be based at Calder Park in Wakefield.
In this role, you will support and maintain the mechanisms of the YatH RSSS Quality Management System (QMS), including the auditing of multiple forensic activities to evidence compliance with International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), and Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) standards and requirements.
Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of ISO/FSR standards/requirements/accreditation. Candidates will also have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a keen sense of attention to detail when checking, preparing, and presenting reports, and updating QMS records. A fundamental understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action is essential.
Applicants must also be prepared to work flexible hours to suit business needs and to travel throughout the Yorkshire and Humber area as required.
Within the Career Progression Scheme, based on the role entry requirements, the starting salary for appointed candidates will normally be at the bottom scale-point of the grade. An appointment may, however, be made at a higher scale-point should qualifications, skills and experience be commensurate - this is subject to appropriate approval.
Please note that due to the nature of the role, successful candidates will be required to provide biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police elimination databases. This is for routine speculative searching purposes., For roles which are advertised as Career Progression Schemes, individuals will be appointed to the bottom scale point of the appropriate grade within the scheme, based on the role entry requirements. Full progression through the scheme may be subject to attaining a specific qualification or successfully passing an assessment or review.
West Yorkshire Police is committed to improving the diversity of its workforce to better reflect the diverse communities we serve. We welcome applications from all minority groups and individuals who identify with one or more of the protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
Applicants should be aware that it is not always possible to carry out adequate vetting checks on persons who have not been resident within the UK for the last five years. Therefore, where this applies, applicants may be refused because it was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.
