Full Job Description

This is an exciting new post working in the Cardiff & Value UHB Validation Team based at the University Hospital of Wales. The primary function of the role is to work alongside Directorates across all Clinical Boards undertaking waiting list validation, in order to support the achievement of organisational objectives and key Welsh Government targets. The post holder will be expected to liaise with Health Professionals and Directorate Teams , generate validation reports, to analyse patient pathways and correct them where necessary on UHB systems., Communication & Relationships

  • To build relationships with managers and clinicians in Directorates across the UHB in order to support the achievement of key Welsh Government waiting time targets.
  • Communicate effectively about information relating to patient pathways and validation undertaken within the UHB to staff.
  • To provide guidance of the interpretation of RTT rules to Directorates and Corporate Teams.
  • Data and Information Management
  • Working to the principles of information management using computers and will be accessing, inputting data and creating reports from a number of local and national databases.
  • Creation of reports to update on impact of validation.
  • To have in-depth specialist knowledge of waiting list rules in order to ensure correct decision making regarding patient's waiting list status and for advising UHB colleagues when needed.
  • To analyse complex patient pathways across all stages of the patient pathways and ensuring accuracy of the waiting list information. Where necessary correcting pathways on multiple electronic patient systems.
  • The post requires problem solving skills in relation to information management and excellent attention to detail in order to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data.
  • The post holder will require intermediate experience of database systems and be skilled at manipulating, querying and presenting data in Excel.
  • The post holder will be responsible for personal development including mandatory and statutory training.

    We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to work alongside us within the Validation Team. The applicant should have the essential requirements outlined in the personal specification , with excellent communication and organisational skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and the ability to prioritise their own workload.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
