The SACT Team are keen to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated permanent band 6 nurses. This is an exciting opportunity for compassionate cancer nurses who thrive in an ever changing environment, individuals that enjoy a fast paced care and are passionate about the commitment in helping the current team to shape the future. you will need to have skills in leadership, be forward thinking, innovative and delegative.

You will be joining a newly revised and evolving service, the service support 6 day working and provides primary assessment and support for patients receiving oral SACT. This is an exciting opportunity that will support you to develop skills in becoming a UKONs telephone triage nurse, where you will participate on the rota to triage patients over the phone and direct them onto appropriate pathways . Opportunities for continued learning and to be involved in the UKONs forum.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as an important member of the Multidisciplinary Team within the Torbay and South Devon SACT service

NHS Trust collaborating with a range of health care providers in the local community and across the regional Network

To provide expert advice and management for SACT patients

Actively promoting self-care for all patients in the Torbay and South Devon Health Authority including hospice patients

The post holder will utilize skills of clinical expertise, education and management to ensure a seamless service for patients, carers and staff, providing advice, support and information from the time of diagnosis and throughout curative, palliative and end of life care

To work as a supportive and inspirational team member within the integrated teams providing a high standard of profession specific expertise
