Full Job Description

Our Safeguarding Nursing Team, under the guidance of the Strategic Lead Nurse for Safeguarding Adults, provides evidence-based guidance, safeguarding supervision, and training for staff across all Trust sites. The team plays a pivotal role in assisting staff with complex and serious adult and child protection cases. Safeguarding faces multifaceted challenges that demand specialised knowledge and diverse skill sets. In this role you will engage in a variety of safeguarding activities. These include offering advice and support to frontline practitioners, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in a range of safeguarding meetings. This is a vital role that actively contributes to the development and delivery of safeguarding training programmes., Clinical:

  • Serve as a role model and offer specialized guidance to healthcare professionals on safeguarding matters.
  • Foster a culture of best practices throughout the Trust regarding safeguarding.
  • Manage the sharing of confidential and highly sensitive information with external agencies, while also handling complex information within the Safeguarding domain.
  • Keep the Safeguarding Operational Nursing Leads for Children and Adults informed of current concerns and trends expressed by Trust staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with professional standards, such as NMC guidance.
  • Empower frontline staff to effectively address safeguarding issues in alignment with best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Play a part in establishing and enhancing efficient communication among multiple agencies and disciplines., Contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, research-based safeguarding training across the Trust, catering to a diverse range of disciplines.
  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation of safeguarding training programmes across the Trust.
  • Collaborate in monitoring staff safeguarding training compliance using an established database, ensuring adherence to national and local training compliance targets.
