Full Job Description

As the Safer Recruitment and Serving Coordinator, you will be responsible for administering the recruitment (also known as Safer Recruitment) of church family members into serving partner (volunteering) roles.

This will involve getting to know and working closely with church family, ministers and staff. You will fill a wide range of regular and one-off roles, so you will work closely with different ministries to make sure that serving roles are filled in a timely manner.

You will also participate in weekly Congregation Meetings and Staff Meetings.

Safer Recruitment:

- Collaborate with the safeguarding officer on monitoring and developing the system that would implement the Safer Recruitment checks.
- Guide and support all Serving Partners (approximately 900) through the Safer Recruitment process.
- Support and work with Parish Safeguarding Officer following the latest safeguarding checks for Serving Partners.
- Safer recruitment record keeping for All Souls safeguarding training and safer recruitment for serving partners.
- In line with the current safeguarding policies, run the established processes and systems that support the administration of Serving Partner (volunteer) recruitment, with particular attention to safer recruitment procedures.
- Informing and keep introducing the Safer Recruitment idea and new safeguarding policy to Ministry Leaders and Serving Partners.
- When needed and depending on demand, organise live safeguarding training sessions for groups in person or via Zoom.- Administering Safer

Recruitment process:

1. Interview with the leader - tracking the responses of 'Interviews', sending interview links.
2. Sending the right Role Descriptions and Code of Conduct to all Serving Partners.
References - tracking the references and chasing the Serving Partners to submit them.
3. Sending Basic Awareness and Foundations training instructions to Serving Partners and chasing the Ministry Leaders to ensure each team completes the training in a timely manner.
- Administering the DBS checking and renewing system for Serving Partners and All Souls Staff.

Serving Coordinator:

- Act as a point of contact for parish serving (volunteering) enquiries and new sign-ups.
- Advertising and promoting the current serving opportunities to church members.
- Liaise with the Music Department Coordinator regarding sign up and marketing of - Serving Partners for special events (i.e. Royal Albert Hall, Christmas, Easter).
- Work with practical serving area team to develop training and induction for joining teams (currently managing the Tea & Coffee Sunday team rota).
- Liaise with the Events Manager (and other stakeholders) to ensure serving partners are available for events.

Competency with Google Sheets, Google Docs and Gmail or equivalent software.
- Excellent administrative skills.
- Excellent overall IT and computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to take responsibility for projects and problem solve effectively.
- A committed Christian in sympathy with the evangelical stance and mission of All Souls.
- A hard worker with a servant-heart.
- A flexible team player and someone who can work independently as needed.
- Ability to work in a team/alongside others while demonstrating Christian principles and behaviours.
- Graduate or equivalent relevant work experience and knowledge (desirable).
