Full Job Description

Are you our next Safety & Compliance Engineering Manager. We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for are our Engineering team. As part of our 'Grow with Gatwick' initiative you'll be provided with plenty of training and support to ensure you're developing and growing your career. What's the role? The role holder will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of electrical, mechanical and building service installations and equipment across the Gatwick Airport campus. The role will lead on all essential Engineering H&S issues and ensure legal and regulatory compliance of the asset base. The Safety & Compliance Engineering Manager will report to the Senior Asset Manager for the airport. The role will require a high level of technical knowledge across a wide range of engineering systems, best practice and standards, regulatory requirements and safe systems of works. What you'll be doing?

  • Ensure statutory compliance of plant and equipment to relevant standards, regulations, legislation and codes of practice.
  • Lead the Engineering regulatory compliance, insurance inspections and certification of plant and equipment.
  • Ensure requirements for safe systems of work are communicated, implemented and updated.
  • Developing compliance reports, analysing and interpreting data.
  • Creating corrective & preventive action programmes where weaknesses have been identified.
  • Supporting and leading engineering divisions in the daily administration of their compliance activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to ensure client compliance with relevant statutory regulations.
  • Evaluating potential methods of carrying out an engineering task and selecting the most appropriate solution.
  • Identifying improvements in a technique, procedures, processes or methods.

    Experience in coordinating teams in an Engineering systems environment focusing on safety and compliance excellence.
  • Commercially balanced view - value: cost, process and people.
  • Strong understanding of various engineering functions in an engineering environment and their interaction with the various engineering systems.
  • Strong experience in the use of a CAFM / CMMS in planning maintenance activities and driving asset compliance.
  • Strong ability in report writing and data analysis.
  • Good understanding of Asset Management processes and ISO 55001/ISO45001/ISO14001 requirements.
  • Strong ability in the application of compliance and regulatory requirements within an engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of safe systems of work and supporting documentation.
  • Experience in internal auditing activities.
