Full Job Description

The health and safety coordinator's role is to provide competent advice and support to the Service Operations Director in line with the requirements specified in the Management of Health and Safety a work Regulations 1999, regulation 7 (see Appendix 1), and fulfills at a minimum, but not limited to, the responsibilities outlined in the "Responsibilities" section below, relevant to the workplace activities. This role also provides coverage and support to other aftermarket facilities ensuring alignment with health and safety processes and practices and also supports the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager EMEAI with SMS Audits within the EMEAI region including basic support during absence.,

  • Support and lead the Health, Safety and Environment strategy and programs at the facility.
  • Implement the Health and Safety Management System according to regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Carryout and support workplace risk assessments.
  • Conduct and support incident investigation and promote proactive reporting of near miss and good catches.
  • Prepare and implement policies and procedures with operational management and employees.
  • Coordinate a regular safety committee/team.
  • Communicate essential safety information to all facility team members.
  • Provide regular updates to senior managers and the Environmental, health and safety manager EMEAI.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems and the related performance outcomes.
  • Ensure training (Induction, general, refresher) is current for team members
  • Lead safety improvement projects in conjunction with facility management.
  • Coordinate and undertake regular safety walks, inspections, and internal audits.
  • Oversee and maintain relevant documentation such as risk assessments, procedures, training material etc.
  • Lead visits from Local Authority, Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency and other outside agencies as necessary.
  • Attend EMEAI safety meeting and share ideas and best practices.
  • Be a visible presence on the shop floor to promote high standards of compliance and behaviours, as part of visible felt leadership.
  • Assist and support the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager EMEAI with SMS Audits across the EMEAI region.

    NEBOSH Certificate (level 3) qualified
  • Experience with working in engineering and workshop environments
  • Good Communication and influencing skills
  • Strong minded, resilient and personable.
  • Good computer skills, including use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Organised
  • Willing to travel, Work experiencein industry
  • Must be knowledgeable with applicable safety regulations.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must possess computer skills
