Full Job Description

We are a friendly, well organised, GMS Practice with high QOF scores and a good CQC rating. The Practice has 7 Partners and 9 Salaried GPs along with an Advanced Care Practitioner team, an Urgent Care Team including Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, a Mental Health Nurse and a Pharmacy Team of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. We are part of our local PCN which also works closely with a second local PCN. We work across 3 branches, providing care for over 23,000 and use EMIS Web, Accurx and Docman10.

In 2021 our main branch moved to new, purpose built premises and our list size has grown at a steady rate. We are sadly losing a member of our team and have a vacancy for 4-6 sessions wef November 2024. We are happy to discuss any queries and preferences either via telephone, Teams or face to face.

We offer a range of 3 contract options to Salaried GPs. Each option has a different level of workload which we hope allows applicants to select a role that they are comfortable with.

Main duties of the job

The role of up to 6 sessions per week usually consists of a mix of face to face and telephone consultations although we continue to develop online ways of working.

The rota is arranged so that one GP is on call each morning and afternoon and is able to provide same day support to the wider clinical team. A second GP is primarily responsible for visits each morning. Remaining GPs have routine sessions made up of telephone or face to face consultations. Patients are given a choice of selecting face to face or telephone at the time that they book their appointment. We try to ensure that each session has some telephone appointments to support time management.

Although we are a large team of over 100 staff working across 3 sites, the Partners consider it important to maintain a supportive team ethos.

All clinicians are supported to develop personal interests and as a result we have excellent links with the RCGP, academia, local practice networks and the ICB. We are an advanced training practice taking trainees, medical students and international scholars. Together we bring our experiences from outside the practice to innovate and push the standards of care we provide higher.

Salaried GPs are encouraged to attend protected learning time sessions arranged by the ICB. The practice provides an annual study leave allowance, an annual training budget and will reimburse indemnity costs related to the sessions worked at the practice.

We have a fortnightly meeting slot and meetings include safeguarding, palliative care, significant events and our Journal Club at which clinicians discuss patient concerns, share new learning or discuss new guidance. We also have a specific meeting for Salaried GPs approximately every 6-8 weeks - this meeting is with one of the Partners, the Business Manager and the Clinical Services Manager and allows time to discuss proposals made by the Partners, share ideas and raise any queries.

Depending on experience We offer 3 options for Salaried GPs
