Full Job Description
The Slough location is home to the UK Sales Organisation who work in conjunction with the Product Business Units to sell products to wide variety of customers. We seek a Sales Applications Engineer to join our team to support or customers with solutions and work closely with our sales colleagues.
- Seeking to understand the specific needs and pain points of customers and demonstrating how we can uniquely address those needs with the systems/solutions available.
- Educating customers on the product/system portfolio, the value that each provides to the customer, principles of operation and technical requirements/considerations needed for each.
- Supporting the sales individuals in deriving, configuring and presenting technical system solutions to customers who may not be familiar with them.
- Collaborating with sales, marketing, product and other support functions to develop and influence sales strategies.
- Being motivated by continuous improvement and striving to constantly exceed customer expectations.
- Keeping up to date on electrical and battery industry trends and market conditions and feeding back to the sales team.
- Being data-driven, able to understand data, draw conclusions and make recommendations on how we should adapt based on what we are seeing.
- Supporting the achievement of annual sales targets through effective solution delivery and technical customer support.
- Conducting timely and productive sales support calls with customers and prospects.
- Achieving new product introduction adoption targets.
- Keeping track of required activities in the CRM system to support the sales processes and opportunity progression through the sales cycle. This may include customer interactions to effectively support the sales team's customer relationships and opportunities, including objective, questions, and outcomes.
Electrical principle knowledge is required (lighting/emergency lighting and/or low voltage power distribution). - Competition abilities (product offerings and features, strengths and weaknesses, pricing strategies, and market share) are preferred.
- Having relevant industry standards and regulations is a benefit.
- Having a proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, CRM, PowerBI, Internet search engines, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Outlook. Skills:
