Full Job Description

Here at XPO Logistics, we're currently recruiting a Sales Support Manager to join our dynamic Solutions Design team.

Working as an integral part of the commercial team, you will coordinate and undertake market reviews and research which enables you to continuously provide the business teams with insights, trends and actionable intelligence.

You will help to shape the value proposition, service developments and our ESG offering through competitor studies and analysis. In addition, you will support the Sales team with RFIs and commercial proposals and ensure our database is maintained with the relevant information.,

  • Obtain, analyse and share external information on competitors and target customers to assist theBusiness Development and wider teams.

  • Collate and share relevant market information from business intelligence platforms, e.g., Tracker, IGD

  • Identify new trends in the industry or changes in competitor strategy.

  • Identify creative ways to obtain insight from our customers and potential customers on their needs.

  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to identify and plan for networking and engagement opportunities including exhibitions and sector specific events.

  • Identify new target opportunities in existing & new verticals including barriers to entry.


  • Support Sales process
  • Supporting the business development teams with the preparation of RFIs and customer proposals.

  • Maintain, update and improve the digital library of resources, including company information databases, photo libraries, bid response material, to ensure readily available information when required.


  • Continuous Improvement
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing teams to inform sales materials and messaging.

  • Facilitate the sharing of sales insight information with key stakeholders across the business.Gathering internal market & customer intel across the Business Units

  • Identify and implement improvements and enhancements to the company sales process.

  • Maintain and continuously improve boilerplate bid materials and sales collateral used by the business development teams.

    Excellent leadership, organisation and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in developing strong relationships with a wide network of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Consultative approach with the ability to interact, influence, and communicate effectively with all levels of an organisation.

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically with a strong focus on the customer.

  • High level of initiative and proven ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects.

  • Proven ability to multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Exceptional written and spoken communication skills.

  • A forensic attention to details with an excellent editing and proofing ability

  • Strong expertise on Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Experience in the transport and logistics industry would be a plus.

  • Experience of CRM tools, including Salesforce, would be advantageous.

    We are looking to offer a salary of up to £40,000 per annum. Also, we offer 25 days of holiday (plus bank holidays) and the option to buy additional days.
