Full Job Description

We make health happen The purpose of the role of Sales Team Manager is to lead and manage a team delivering departmental and team Key Performance Indicators through target setting, providing regular sales adviser coaching and monitoring individual and team performance to achieve the AOP sales targets and business objectives. How you'll help us make health happen:

  • To manage the behaviour and attitude of the advisers on a day to day basis ensuring that they are motivated and focused. To effectively create an open team culture and environment that is conducive to achieving the team objectives
  • To conduct regular team meetings, one to one meetings and formal 6 monthly performance reviews ensuring that sales adviser performance is monitored against department objectives and role competencies
  • To mentor advisers to attain sales targets by giving regular feedback and setting relevant targets and objectives. To identify training needs of advisers not reaching department targets and Key Performance Indicators, taking remedial action by creating development plans and solutions.
  • To instigate and manage disciplinary action when appropriate in line with Bupa's Capability and Disciplinary Policy.
  • To recruit, train and induct new sales advisers into the department, setting them clear performance targets and objectives and then regularly monitoring their performance through the T&C system (as above).
  • To deliver ad hoc one to one coaching and team training on new processes, practices or system developments to ensure sales adviser performance is consistently enhanced and maximised. Also provide training to the team to ensure a thorough understanding of best practice assessments and full adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • To manage complaint handling process within the team and to deal with all escalated adviser queries and referrals ensuring that customer satisfaction is maximised.
  • To proactively look to improve existing work practices and management practices in order to maximise the team's and departments performance and maximise sales opportunities.
  • To provide regular reports on the business activity and results and from this to develop action plans for the advisers

    Telesales or call centre experience
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Employed with Bupa for a minimum of 6 months with performance standards and targets met during that period (internal only)
  • Positive attitude and self motivation
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to build networks of internal and external contacts
  • Able to make important decisions within agreed parameters and day to day decisions without referral
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and ability necessary for this role
