Full Job Description

  • Ensure business compliance with QMS, IEC/ISO 17025, MCERTS and associated documentation.
  • To comply with all the Health and Safety and ISO14001 requirements of your role, and perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Eurofins Chemtest Business.
  • Preparation of samples as identified from work schedules
  • Drying and Grinding samples
  • Assistance in maintenance programmes for the Departments specific analytical instrumentation and any other analytical equipment used by the Department. Maintenance procedures shall ensure that instruments are kept in a clean and serviceable condition and that routine in house maintenance procedures are kept up to date.
  • Maintenance, storage and labeling of samples
  • Consultation with the Laboratory Manager or Team Leader when turnaround deadlines cannot be met
  • Unpacking of client sample containers (laying out)
  • Classification of soil samples (traying up)
  • Daily calibration checks of the balances.
  • Raise anomalies of results from daily calibration checks to Divisional Manager
  • Adherence to company SOP/QMS and work instructions
  • To work in a professional and safe manner
  • To ensure that the laboratory areas and work surfaces are free from clutter, and any spillages on the bench, floor and especially the instruments are immediately cleaned up.
  • To assist others in the performance of their duties if trained in that area of operation and if time allows.
  • To ensure that samples are returned to the appropriate storage area after testing

    Previous experience within a laboratory is not required, full training will be provided.

  • Prepare samples for the analytical department, adhering to SOP standards.
