Full Job Description

Tuesday - Saturday. 05:00 - 13:00. Purpose of the post: Responsible for organising and registering water samples into the IT system. This role ensures accurate sorting, tracking and registration of samples in a timely manner to meet customer requirements. Working closely with the other areas of the department to ensure testing timelines are met.

  • Sort through all sample deliveries and arrange samples in time order to achieve testing in stability where possible. This will require manual handling training.
  • Match sample paperwork to the relevant samples.
  • Register samples into our IT system meeting the testing requirements provided by the customer. Always ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with internal teams or external customers to clarify testing details or specifications if unclear or not provided.
  • Troubleshoot any issues related to sample registration.
  • Ensure accurate labelling, storage and disposal of samples takes place.
  • Ensure that registration is completed in a timely manner to allow the sample to be tested within the required time frames as per our quality procedures.
  • Work in line with our quality procedures to maintain accreditation.
  • Collaborate with other team members and show flexibility to help meet demand.
  • Be aware of and always maintain good laboratory practice.
  • Work with the team to drive the department forward through continuous improvement.
  • Abide by strict health and safety rules.
  • Complete all required training and maintain your own records as required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable task or responsibility requested by a senior manager.

    Experience in a fast-paced working environment and working under pressure to meet demand.
  • Proficient in using IT systems and efficient at typing.
  • Enthusiastic and able to work efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills.
  • Good communication skills and a team Player.
  • Regular lifting of water samples is required.
  • A combination of sitting and standing for long periods.
