Sample Registration Technician

The purpose of the role is to register all water microbiology samples for analysis in a timely and accurate manner, and transfer to the laboratory as appropriate using out computer systems. This can be using an electronic format or paper based.,

• To accept deliveries of samples onto site.


• To accurately and rapidly register samples for analysis and dispatch samples to the relevant business location.


• Understand the importance of sample stability and ensure where possible samples are registered and ready for testing within their required stability times.


• To liaise with couriers and customers and Eurofins drivers to enable timely collection and dispatch of work to external and internal facilities.


• To follow standard operating procedures and safe working practice to ensure the safety of self and colleagues.


• Have a clean as you work mentality.


• Ensuring that any relevant sample logs are kept up to date.


• Responsible for correct temperature storage of samples on receipt and prior to processing. Act accordingly when they are not.


• Responsible for coding and logging of samples onto the in house IT System (FGS).


• Responsible for dispatching Adhoc samples and consumables to clients.


• Answer incoming calls and make out-going calls to follow up on customers and must maintain a high level of customer service at all times.


• Keep up to date with sample storage and discards.


• Liaise with directly customers to resolve queries in a timely manner.
