SAP Automation Test Engineer

As a SAP Test Automation Engineer you will be responsible for leading on or more teams of talented automation engineers.

You will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day management, planning, reporting, progress and risk management for the team, providing guidance and expertise to deliver successfully against your commitments.

You will work with other Sogeti and client stakeholders to ensure commitments are met.

You will be certified to ISTQB Foundation Level in Software Testing, as a minimum (or equivalent qualification).

Skills and Experience

• Design and implement effective automation test strategies and plans for SAP applications and integrations.


• Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test scripts for SAP using tools like Selenium WebDriver, Tricentis Tosca, or Keysight EggPlant.


• Automate testing for various SAP (s3 / r4) modules, including Finance, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Business Warehouse (BW), and Concur.


• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and other team members to integrate automation as-sets into CI / CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, TOSCA Server or similar.


• Manage and maintain versions of test automation assets in code repositories like GIT.


• Ensure proper defect management processes and adherence to test life cycles for automated testing.


• Participate in the preparation and execution of various testing phases, including System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), through automation.


• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, providing guidance and expertise in SAP test automation.


• Manage and mentor a team of automation engineers., To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

• Proficiency in at least one object oriented programming / scripting language (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript etc.).


• Experience of executing SAP E2E testing (internal to SAP and externally to non SAP Systems)


• Experience in Test preparation & Execution of SAP ECC in general in an Integration Testing phase


• Good knowledge of individual SAP Modules, especially Concur, Finance and SCM modules


• Knowledge of Reporting Testing (SAP BW, Tablo and Business Objects the systems used for Re-porting) desirable


• Hands-on experience with SAP testing, including knowledge of SAP modules like Finance and SCM.


• Expertise in test automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, Tricentis Tosca, Keysight EggPlant, or similar.


• Understanding of CI / CD pipelines and integrating automation assets with tools like TOSCA Server, Jenkins, etc.


• Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA, ALM, etc.


• Experience with Agile / DevOps environments and continuous testing practices.


• Ability to work in a problem solving environment, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.


• Knowledge of test life cycles, defect management processes, and risk / issue identification.


• ISTQB / ISEB certification in software testing (Foundation level or above) or willingness to obtain one.


• Experience in managing and mentoring a team of automation engineers.


• Flexibility to travel and work at different locations during the project.


Nice to Have Skills :

• Tricentis TOSCA Automation Specialist Level 1 & 2 certifications.


• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.


• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter.


• Familiarity withap data masking and data subsetting techniques.


• Understanding of API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, or ReadyAPI.


• Experience with accessibility or usability testing.


• Knowledge of SAP testing methodologies like ASAP, iCaptivate, and TMAP.
