Full Job Description

SUSE Linux Administration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain SUSE Linux Enterprise Servers (SLES 15)
  • Perform daily administration, monitoring, and maintenance of SUSE Linux environments
  • Apply patches, updates, and system upgrades as needed to maintain system security and performance
  • Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or other automation tools
  • High-Availability (HA) Cluster Management:
  • Design, deploy, and manage high-availability clusters on SUSE Linux
  • Configure and troubleshoot SUSE HA clustering solutions to ensure continuous availability of critical services
  • Monitor the health and performance of HA clusters, ensuring optimal failover and load-balancing mechanisms
  • Implement and manage DR (Disaster Recovery) strategies
  • NFS and Storage Management:
  • Configure and manage NFS servers in a SUSE Linux environment
  • Work with Azure storage services to integrate NFS solutions
  • Optimize file system performance and troubleshoot storage-related issues
  • Azure Cloud Integration:
  • Deploy and manage SUSE Linux workloads in Azure
  • Leverage Azure services like Azure Files, Azure Storage, and Azure Virtual Machines to support NFS and HA requirements
  • Utilize Azure Backup, Recovery, and Monitoring services for SUSE environments
  • Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting:
  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance across the Linux and Azure infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Linux systems, HA clusters, and storage
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed system documentation, procedures, and best practices
  • Provide regular reports on system performance, availability, and security
  • Collaboration & Support:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, network, and security teams
  • Provide technical support and guidance for end-users and other technical staff
  • Willing to learn and upgrade the skills in various other areas like SAP Basis and HANA administration
  • Cost and performance optimization

    The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), hands-on experience in managing HA infrastructure, and expertise in SAP Azure services. This role is critical for ensuring system reliability, performance, and scalability in SAP environment., Degree educated in an IT related subject
  • 5+ years of experience in SUSE Linux administration
  • 3+ years of experience with high-availability (HA) clusters in Linux environments
  • Hands-on experience managing NFS in enterprise-grade environments
  • Experience working in Azure cloud environments, with a focus on SLES 15 workloads and services for SAP
  • Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Strong knowledge of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and HA clustering solutions
  • Proficiency in NFS configuration, management, and troubleshooting
  • In-depth understanding of Azure cloud platform and services
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
  • Knowledge of virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes) would be beneficial
