Full Job Description

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen at the Bridge. We are looking for an experienced social worker to join the team at the Bridge Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) and Paediatric Centre of Excellence located in Bristol.

The Bridge SARC looks after children and young people of all ages who have experienced sexual abuse in the geographical regions of Avon and Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire as well as adults complainants of rape and sexual assault in the area covered by the Avon & Somerset Constabulary.

The role will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing care and support primarily for children and young people and their parents and carers following sexual harm.

Main duties of the job

This role will entail

- Overview and coordination of referrals into the service for access to non-recent CSA service including :

o To act as the key service navigator for this patient group

o Direct liaison with local authorities, police forces, CYP and their parents/carer across the commissioned area and

o Coordinate and chair weekly intake meetings for the non-recent service

- To represent the SARC and its function in the context of multiagency strategy and professionals meetings across the commissioned area; this will involve:

o Information sharing

o Expert advice and guidance to inform decision making supported by the SARC clinical team

- To collaborate with other members of the team on the training of professionals, consultation with professionals, data scrutiny and safeguarding activity across the SARC service to include

o Maintenance and analysis of the safeguarding database

o Dissemination of child protection medical reports to relevant professionals

- To promote the SARC and non-recent service activity amongst social care teams, MASH, Public Health and Education across our commissioned ICBs, of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
