Full Job Description

A great opportunity has opened up within Cardiac investigations! We are looking for a new ECG Technician. The preferred candidate would have experience in performing ECG's and knowledge of how the department works, this is desirable but not essential as full training will be given., Main duties involve performing Electrocardiograms (ECG's), fitting Ambulatory Holter and Blood pressure monitors, assisting in Exercise Tolerance Testing (ETT), assisting in Rapid Access Chest Pain clinic which will involve taking patient history, and helping prepare patients for Cardiac MRI tests which involves cannulation. There may be times where you are to assist with other clinical duties.

You will be based in Cardiac Investigations and Cardiac MRI but you may be required to perform these tests across the whole of the KGH site.

You will be required to work autonomously and learn to recognise cardiac arrhythmias and escalate appropriately.

You will be responsible for accurate data input into local databases

This is a great opportunity to build a strong foundation within Cardiology with full training given, there is the possibility for further opportunities within the department.

Cardiac Investigations is a Physiologist led service; we are continuously improving the services we offer which will open opportunities for the role of the ECG technician to change to meet the needs of the developing services

Cardiac Investigations department has recently had a complete rebuild which now incorporates offices on the first floor. We have an impressive Echo suit which has MDT and training facilities.

We actively encourage CPD, often have in-house training sessions and company supported courses.

Cardiac investigations has a total of 48 staff members who all have very good working relationships.
