Full Job Description
We are looking for a talented and driven Scala Engineer to join our dynamic development team.
+ You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, utilising your expertise in Scala and modern development practices.
+ You'll collaborate closely with a team of like-minded professionals to deliver high-quality software solutions using the latest technologies.
Roles and Responsibilities :
+ Develop, enhance, and maintain backend or full-stack applications using Scala.
+ Work with frameworks such as Play, Spray, or Akka Actors.
+ Contribute to the design and development of scalable, high-performance systems.
+ Apply your knowledge of at least one other modern web programming language such as Java, PHP, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or C#.
+ Collaborate in Agile environments, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
+ Follow best practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD), focusing on automation.
+ Implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines.
+ Work with both relational and non-relational databases to build and optimise data solutions.
+ Embrace cloud-based approaches (AWS, Azure) and utilise orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes to deploy, scale, and manage applications.
+ Engage with the entire software delivery lifecycle from planning and design to implementation and release.
+ Proven experience with Scala and familiarity with Play, Spray, or Akka Actors.
+ Experience with at least one other modern programming language and ecosystem (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, PHP, or C#).
+ Familiarity with Agile development environments and tools such as Git for version control.
+ Hands-on experience with test automation, CI / CD pipelines, and other modern development practices.
+ Strong understanding of databases (both SQL and NoSQL).
+ Practical experience with cloud services (e.g. AWS or Azure) and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
+ Understanding of the full software delivery cycle, from concept to deployment.
Desired Skills :
+ Experience working in highly collaborative teams.
+ Knowledge of performance optimisation and system scaling.
+ Familiarity with microservices architecture.
