Full Job Description

Purpose of role: The Crown Estate is currently leading a multi-million pound programme to deliver a growing portfolio of collaborative environmental evidence and data projects with the aim of supporting the realisation the UK's offshore wind potential, its contribution to net zero and healthy, sustainable seas.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be part of a new team responsible for delivering this nationally strategic programme. You will be primarily responsible for providing scheduling and planning activities across the Offshore Wind and Evidence and Change Programme (OWEC) and its constituent projects. You will also support the OWEC team in programme and project management activities, including reporting project progress from multiple organisations against key milestones and deliverables internally and to the Steering Group formed of our partners, BEIS and Defra, and 25 organisations from across industry, regulators and stakeholder community.,

  • Design and develop schedules for the OWEC Programme and its constituent

  • projects to include milestones and KPIs and identify appropriate
    stage/decision gates within the plan and to support the wider programme
  • Evaluate progress and performance and identify developing potential

  • problems with deadlines and competing resources
  • Provide regular updates to the critical path and its effect on delivery and

  • recognise interdependencies across resources tasks, and deliverables
  • Work closely within the OWEC Programme to build rapport and trust,

  • provide the right balance of support and challenge
  • Lead regular project meetings, such as new project kick off meetings or

  • project progress meetings, to manage delivery and provide updates to the
    programme management team
  • Support the PMO in communicating project progress, issues and risk for

  • reporting to Sponsors, the leadership team as well as external partners and
    stakeholders
  • Manage project level change and financial management processes, ensure

  • all changes are accurately recorded and communicate the effect they will
    have to the plans

  • 3- 5 years, experience as a Programme Planner/ Schedule & Project Controller - developing high, medium and detailed level plans in Microsoft Project

  • Demonstrable experience of programme or project management

  • Experience of implementing and enforcing planning standards and processes. Identification and management of key planning dependencies, risks, issues and assumptions

  • Ability to identify resourcing needs, key milestones and potential barriers to successful project delivery

  • Effective engagement in a programme structure with multiple project teams, project leads and stakeholders


  • Desirable:
  • An understanding of and interest in relevant subject matters e.g. Environmental Science / Offshore Wind / Infrastructure Planning / Marine Environment/Research
