Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a part-time Scheduling Assistant on a permanent basis to support our Community Dental team based at South Tyneside Hospital however may be needed to cover various locations across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead.

The post holder will be one of a team of administrative support staff who provide essential administrative functions, whilst interfacing with clinical and administrative staff, patients and the general public. The service is fast paced and you would be expected to carry out a variety of administrative tasks.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate they have the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels by telephone and in person. Excellent organisational skills, flexibility and time management are also essential.

You should have excellent keyboard skills and a working knowledge of software packages.

You may be required to cover other reception areas when required.

We are recruiting for a part time post of 15 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

To meet and greet dental patients and carers attend the dental service.

To manage and deal with all direct and indirect patient / carer enquiries, pertaining to dental appointments.

Responsible for making dental appointments on the R4 computer system and demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information.

Provide a wide range of administration and clerical functions to support the provision of an efficient and effective dental service.

To be responsible for the effective running of the reception within the dental clinic.

To support the clinical team with administrative tasks.
