We have opportunity for a positive, passionate and motivate person to join our supported housing scheme in Treherbert as a Scheme Support Officer. Abertonllwyd House provides supported accommodation to 8 individuals over 18, who are homeless and have complex needs. What is great about the role? Abertonllwyd House is a supported housing service which supports up to 8 individuals who have chaotic backgrounds. We offer opportunity for our customers to engage in support which will allow them to gain confidence and the skills required to live independently. As a Scheme Support Officer, you will carry out essential work in re-engaging individuals with mental health services and drug and alcohol programmes. You'll be working with highly engaged individuals and having a positive impact on their lives. Day to Day Duties: As a Scheme Support Officer, you work alongside the Project Workers actioning the goals they set with the people we support. Your day will consist of:

  • Engaging and interacting with the people we support, including attending external agency appointments with them.
  • Delivering sessions relating to tenancy management, Life skills and health & wellbeing.
  • Arranging and carrying out activities with the people we support to support them with their goals and physical health.
  • Managing the maintenance and health & safety of the scheme.
  • Addressing any additional needs the people we support might have.
  • Our motivation is to ensure we equip individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently as well as re-engage them into the appropriate health services. This is a challenging role, and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including failing health, complex mental health, and alcohol/substance misuse issues. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse client group.

  • Exact salary for this role is £23,376.60 + an additional £34.54 for each sleep-in
  • The scheme is covered 24 hours, 7 days a week so you'll be expected to work on a rolling rota which involves: days, evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep-ins.
