Full Job Description
Hours: 2.5 days per week which can be worked flexibly, both at school and at home, for 39 weeks including INSET days and two additional weeks. Can also offer 30hrs per week across both schools.
We are seeking to appoint a forward-thinking School Business Manager, who will work as part of our team and can:
· Provide high quality strategic leadership on business functions within the school, including financial planning, stakeholder management and resource allocation in support of the school's vision, aims and objectives.
· Lead on the effective and efficient delivery of business support services across the school.
· Be proactive in developing new systems, manage multiple projects and ensure the school is compliant with legislation and internal policies.
· This is a strategic leadership position which requires an excellent knowledge of school finance systems and management of the school budget including finance reporting to the LA, Headteacher and Governors. You will need to have an excellent understanding of HR, payroll and Health & Safety (including Premises).
· The successful candidate will need to be proficient in data management systems such as FMS and SIMS and have a good knowledge of MS Office software.
Main areas of responsibilities will include:
· Lead and manage strategic vision and leadership in all aspects of budget, finance and premises to SLT and Governors.
· Prepare the annual budget, monitor the budget and provide monthly finance reports to SLT and Governors.
· Complete and submit all financial statutory returns.
· Support the Headteacher with all Health & Safety matters within the school.
· Manage the school's contracts and premises; overseeing maintenance and improvement programmes.
· Responsible for HR functions within the school including recruitment and payroll.
Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged.
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, South Woodham Ferrers and St Francis Catholic Primary School, Maldon joined together to create the Christ the King Federation.
The joining of the two schools has proved fruitful with many shared successes including both schools being awarded an outstanding inspection judgement in their most recent Section 48 inspections. Both schools place great emphasis on the Arts as well as sporting activities and our achievements in both can be appreciated on your visit to our schools.
