Full Job Description

We are looking for a responsible, hands-on School Caretaker Manager to join our fantastic team at our new Options School - Hazel Cottage. As School Caretaker, you will help support our pupils and young people in their daily lives, by ensuring our sites are well maintained and equipped to meet their needs. Your duties will include;

  • Design and adhere to a schedule of maintenance within the school and outdoor areas
  • Take on small improvement projects to improve school facilities
  • Assembling furniture and other equipment
  • Painting and other types of maintenance
  • Assisting with set up for school events
  • Scheduling external contractors
  • Maintaining Health & Safety Records
  • The succesful candidate will be an efficient, practical, hand-on person. You will take pride in maintaining our school, from day-to-day repairs to completing risk assessments, carrying out security procedures, checking equipment and contributing to school development projects, and providing a safe, caring environment where every pupil can thrive. For many of our pupils, consistency is key, and our School Caretaker should take time to make sure everything is as it should be for us to run smoothly and safely.

    Previous experience in a similar setting would be great but isn't essential as full training will be given, and the right DIY skills, motivation, and personal qualities are just as important. These roles are ideal for people with skills in maintenance, DIY and health and safety, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to pupils' lives and futures.

We are situated in Fazakerley, Liverpool. Our school is a Grade 2 Listed building which has been refurbished and re-designed to the highest standard to meet the needs of our wonderful pupils.
