Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Counsellor, to support the pastoral care of the School and to help develop a mental health strategy for the foundation. The Counsellor will be expected to ensure that a clinically effective, high quality of care is available to pupils and other members of the school community. The role and responsibilities of this position are to include:

  • Triage and treat pupils reporting to the Health Centre with mental health concerns.
  • To provide comprehensive counselling/psychotherapy support to school pupils.
  • To provide occasional training for pastoral and other staff in mental health matters and management strategies
  • To liaise with the House parents and other pastoral staff to help build and deliver a mental health awareness education programme for pupils.

    Dean Close School are looking to appoint a School Counsellor to join our school from September 2024. This is a part time role, up to 25 hours per week, working 34 weeks per year. The salary on offer is depending on experience.
