Are you a passionate, motivated, enthusiastic and caring Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nurse committed to providing a high-quality service to improve outcomes for children living in Coventry?

We offer a comprehensive Preceptorship programme for newly qualified staff alongside a robust New Starters programme to aid transition into the Trust and the team.

As a SCHPN school nurse you will require excellent communication skills and a broad knowledge of working in the community with children and their wider family.

In Coventry we create and promote a positive learning environment for staff, SCHPN students and pre-registration students. Training opportunities, clinical and safeguarding supervision is available to all., The school nurse will be the named nurse for a number of schools and GP practices within a geographical area and will prioritise, organise and delegate work within the team to ensure effective delivery of service and best use of resource.

The school nurse will lead the team in the delivery of public health programmes and ensure the delivery of the Health Questionnaires to improve outcomes for children, young people and families. You will also have additional special responsibility for a designated area as required by the service e.g. young carers etc.

The school nurse will ensure children, young people, families and school communities know the role and function of the school nursing service and how to access the service.
