Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced School Operations Manager to join our team here at Broadlands Academy. This role will report into the Principal and have a direct line into the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the ongoing operational effectiveness of the school. You will be liaising closely with colleagues across both the school and our central teams of finance, HR, recruitment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have an operations background with excellent numeracy, administration and organisational skills. This is a very similar role to that of a School Business Manager so those with experience working within an administrative/ management role within a school will have a strong advantage.

In this exciting new role, you will be:

  • Line managing facilities staff and acting as the main point of contact for contractors

  • Liaising with the catering team to uphold standards

  • Managing lettings and event bookings where required

  • Implementing and managing Health and Safety policies

  • Managing DBS checks for school visitors and GDPR; ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and processing data requests

  • Ordering - place orders, raise Purchase Orders, goods receipt noting / scanning, chasing orders

  • Liaising with HR Coordinators to support with recruitment and arrange interviews

  • Coordinating the collection of verified ID documents, certificates and disclosure forms at interviews for employment checks and necessary certification

  • Line managing all administrative staff, for example, receptionists, administrative assistants, cover manager.

  • Manage logistics for all school events (eg bookings, visitors, contractors etc)

  • Support with any insurance claims on behalf of the school

  • Communications - Manage logistics for communications to parents/carers and the wider community

  • Scheduling annual mandatory staff training (examples Prevent, safeguarding, First Aid)
