Full Job Description

Outstanding SEND Provision located in Orpington is currently seeking a dedicated and organised Reception & Admin Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision in Orpington. The ideal candidate will have experience in school receptionist duties and administrative support, with strong skills in database management. You must be available straight away and can work 5 days a week. This is for an immediate start!

  • Preferably you have worked in a school in an admin & reception role or similar environment

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

  • Greet and welcome visitors, staff, and students in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, directing them to appropriate personnel.

  • Maintain the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable.

  • Provide administrative support to the school office, including filing, photocopying, and data entry.

  • Assist in the management and updating of school databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and events for school staff.

  • Maintain student records and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Support the SEND team with administrative tasks, including the preparation of reports and documentation.

  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as required.

  • Assist in the coordination of school activities and events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Headteacher or Office Manager.

    Proven experience as a school receptionist or in a similar administrative role.

  • Proficient in using office software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Experience with school management information systems (MIS) and databases.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
