School Safeguarding Officer

Ark Boulton Academy is seeking a dedicated and proactive School Safeguarding Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our pupils, working closely with staff, parents, carers, and external agencies to provide a secure environment where children can thrive., Respond promptly to safeguarding concerns, ensuring the protection and safety of pupils.
Collaborate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to create and monitor safeguarding plans for children.
Support class teachers in securing positive outcomes for vulnerable pupils, including those with formal plans such as Looked After Children and Children in Care.
Provide administrative support to the safeguarding team, including word processing, distributing mail, photocopying, and filing.
Report regularly to the Safeguarding Lead on all safeguarding concerns, ensuring oversight and compliance with school policies.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to support the safeguarding function within the school.

Experience or knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and external agencies.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Empathy and the ability to handle sensitive situations with care and confidentiality.
Previous experience in a similar role within a school setting would be advantageous but not essential.
