Full Job Description

If you have the skills to manage teams, projects and events, with the experience to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, particularly in the travel, transport, sustainability and environmental sector, plus the drive to make a real difference we want to hear from you.

You will be an experienced team manager, with strong organisational, analytical and relationship management skills which allow you to prioritise workloads and ensure service levels are maintained and continually improved. To be successful, you will be adaptable to change especially in response to sensitive road safety concerns and changing political landscapes.

Using your understanding of local government and educational institutions, or equivalent organisations, you will be able to build rapport and effectively manage multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders and cross sector service partnerships.

Being an excellent communicator, influencer and creative thinker, you will lead on developing resources, promoting campaigns and facilitating innovative, pratical inter-active active travel training and engagement activities, workshops, webinars and events with schools, workplaces and communities virtually or in person across a diverse range of settings., We want to be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining excellent people to work for us, so that we can best serve all of Gloucestershire's diverse communities. Our promise to you is that we will provide an inclusive and supportive working environment that enables you to bring your whole self to work and realise your full potential.

It is a legal requirement, under the Immigration Act 2016, that anyone appointed to a 'customer facing role' must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for the majority of our roles, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice, with a mix of both remote and office working.

The Thinktravel team is dedicated to integrating active travel (walking and wheeling) into our daily routines, which we believe makes for healthier, safer, greener, and more active sustainable communities, across Gloucestershire. We do this through the delivery of our core services, School Crossing Patrols, and Bikeability, alongside an expanding Active Travel behaviour change programme.

This role is pivotal in leading the School Crossing Patrol Service alongside delivering and promoting priority educational active travel and road safety initiatives accessible to all, which aim to create new active travel habits with a focus on the school run and onward commute., All GCC employees benefit from the knowledge that the work they do can directly improve the lives of the people of Gloucestershire; we believe that by doing so they deserve to be further rewarded.
