Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated School Liaison Officer to join our dynamic Recruitment team, playing a vital role in attracting new prospective students to the University.

This position demands exceptional relationship management skills as you will be responsible for nurturing relations with key stakeholders, including schools, colleges, and partner organisations within our primary recruitment regions. You will have oversight of all activity for certain regions, and be accountable for increasing applications from these in agreement with the Student Recruitment Manager.

The School Liaison Officer will effectively manage their schedule, including selecting recruitment events to engage potential students in alignment with the Student Recruitment Strategy.

Key responsibilities include delivering impactful presentations to prospective audiences, maintaining a presence at regional events such as schools / colleges / UCAS / UKUS. Further duties include identifying new engagement opportunities with target schools / colleges, and for event logistics such as organising Discovery Days and supporting Open/Applicant Days.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a can-do attitude, exceptional communication and organisational skills and be a team player. Managing internal relationships will be as important as external relationships in this role, with responsibility in supporting academic areas to boost applications to key course areas. A proven ability to problem-solve will be highly beneficial, with experience of using initiative and flexibility to solve issues as and when they arise without requiring input from others.

The role will require a flexible approach to working, including occasional weekend and evening work as well as travel within the UK.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this position.
