Full Job Description

Science Communicators are the heart of everything we do at Xplore! It's a role where no two days are ever the same. You could be with families within our centre on a Saturday, going out to a secondary school with our planetarium on a Wednesday and then developing a brand-new workshop covering biodiversity on a Friday. As a science communicator you will be inspiring and will foster a love of science in all.

As a Science Communicator you will have a keen interest in science and be passionate about communicating with people about anything and everything. You love engaging, talking and presenting to a wide range of audiences. We believe that confidence and subject knowledge can be built and learnt over time but showing initiative and wanting to give something a go will be second nature to you. You are an excellent team player while also having the ability to be a self-directed worker. Whilst having a background in science is useful, it certainly isn't a deal-breaker and a drive to learn is just as important.

We are looking for science communicators with good weekend and holiday availability to support delivery of our programme primarily in our centre. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable. The ability to drive is also advantageous. Representation is incredibly important for sparking a passion for science, with that in mind Xplore! celebrates diversity and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
