Full Job Description
Lampton School is a large, mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 school. We were judged as "outstanding" in all categories by Ofsted in 2005, 2008, 2013 and 2024. We are the lead school for the London West Alliance and a SCITT in partnership with the University of Roehampton. As a member of the Hounslow Education Partnership we can offer staff excellent opportunities for professional learning and career progression.
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of science to join our creative and innovative science department for January 2025. You would be joining a highly successful department both in terms of attainment and progress. Our GCSE progress score for science in 2023 and 2024 was significantly positive placing the department in the top 20% nationally for progress, and many students stay on to study A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Applications are welcome from experienced and newly qualified teachers able to teach science throughout the ability range at KS3 and KS4 with, preferably, the ability to offer one from biology, chemistry or physics at A level. Excellent support is available from a very experienced team.
The department science is an outward facing department which offers many enrichment opportunities. It has a well-established and very successful STEM programme where students benefit from a range of visits and experiences enabling them to explore a range of careers in the sciences. It supports visits from other education systems both nationally and internationally. The team is highly innovative with members of the department are involved in a range of projects including: work with The Ogden Trust; links with UCL on assessment in physics; and an in-house STEM collaboration with the mathematics department to align teaching approaches of shared content across Schemes of Work.
Lampton School actively encourages and supports the safeguarding and protection of all its students. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. In accordance with the DfE's Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 statutory guidance, we will complete a search of publicly available content online relating to any candidate seeking to work at Lampton School.
Please read the Person Specification and Applicant documents, and either apply through TES or send a completed Staff Application Form and Equal Opportunities Form to Sharon Samrai: ssamrai@lampton.org.uk. CVs will not be accepted.
Applications will be considered as they are received, and we may make an appointment prior to the closing date.
All documents and additional information are on our website: www.lampton.org.uk
