Full Job Description
I am accountable for all the charity's relationships with our corporate partners. It is my role to help grow Scotty's impact by acquiring new funding partners, developing existing relationships, and ultimately being responsible for the income generated from our partnerships with businesses. I am accountable for:
- The charity's corporate fundraising income stream including the development of annual plans, budgets and delivering agreed goals.
- Stewardship and growth of Scotty's Business Heroes Club.
- Development of partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
- Stewardship of reactive and proactive charity of the year partners.
- Corporate participation in Scotty's events such as the Scotty's March and Scotty's Ball. 3-month goals for this role:
- Onboarding: Understanding Scotty's OS (our 'operating system'), values, behaviours, mission and impact through meetings with the team and a tailored onboarding program of learning.
- Audit: Speak with at least 10 current partners for feedback and learnings. Review existing pipelines and materials. Join scheduled calls with the head of fundraising to start handing over relationships on a rolling basis.
- Pipeline Development: Identify and qualify a minimum of 10 potential new corporate partners, prioritizing those with a strong alignment to the charity's mission.
- Relationship Building: Establish initial contact with at least 10 of these potential partners, scheduling introductory meetings or calls.
- Strategy Development: Develop a comprehensive corporate fundraising strategy, outlining key tactics, timelines, and performance metrics.
- Proposal Development: Build up existing materials to create a compelling proposal template that can be customized for different corporate partners, highlighting the unique benefits of partnering with Scotty's Little Soldiers. 6-month goals for this role:
- Business Heroes Club Growth: Secure at least 2 new members each month (6).
- Events: Plan and deliver a successful Scotty's Business Heroes Club webinar and annual meet-up.
- Income targets: Take ownership of ensuring we hit the existing corporate budget lines.
- Relationship Management: Strengthen 5 existing corporate partnerships, increasing their level of support by 25%+ 9-month goals for this role:
- Income Generation: Exceed (or be on track to exceed) the annual corporate fundraising target by 10%.
- Pipeline Expansion: Add £50k of corporate fundraising opportunities to the pipeline each month.
- Multi-year partners: Secure at least one, multi-year partnership with an annual income of £25k plus.
- Innovation: Introduce at least one innovative corporate fundraising initiative to support new business or stewardship and development of existing supporters.
- Personal development: Review and report on needs and opportunities., Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate fundraising strategy, including setting income targets and key performance indicators.
- Identify and research potential corporate partners, tailoring approaches to maximise engagement and support.
- Build strong relationships with existing corporate partners, fostering long-term partnerships and increasing their level of support.
- Negotiate and secure high-value partnerships, including corporate sponsorships, charity of the year relationships, and employee fundraising initiatives.
- Manage a robust pipeline of corporate prospects, regularly tracking progress and reporting on key metrics.
- Develop and deliver (online and in person) compelling proposals and presentations to effectively communicate the charity's mission, impact, and fundraising opportunities.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create impactful materials that resonate with corporate audiences.
- Representing the charity at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to raise awareness and build relationships.
- Manage a budget for corporate fundraising activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximising return on investment.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in corporate fundraising to ensure a proactive and innovative approach., We currently work remotely. Linked to autonomy is the ability to manage our own time. We don't need to ask permission to go to the dentist, or to take an hour out of the day to attend an assembly at School. Within reason we can also set our own hours - although we do need to be available for agreed regular meetings.
Proven track record in income generation, preferably within Corporate Fundraising, with a strong understanding of the UK corporate landscape. - Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key decision-makers.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative and strategic thinker, with a passion for developing innovative fundraising initiatives.
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of charity regulations and requirements.
- Self-motivated, positive and able to work independently.
- A passion for the mission of Scotty's Little Soldiers. Desirable:
- Experience working with military charities or defence-sector organisations.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by bereaved military children.
- Knowledge of CRM systems (we use Salesforce).
