Full Job Description

The Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Bowel Screening Programme is seeking to recruit 1 part time Screening Practitioners (SPs) to join our team, based at Royal United Hospitals Bath.
The bowel screening service addresses the needs of individuals aged between 54 and 75 who have an abnormal test result from a home screening kit. Plans are in place to extend this age group to 50 in the next year.
SP's s are expected to support the SSP's within the bowel screening service with the day to day running of the service, caring for participants with an abnormal FIT test result and within the BCSP surveillance programmes.
As an established SP the opportunity may arise to go on to develop the role to progress to an SSP band 6, where much of the training would have already been completed.
Applicants must be a registered general nurse with appropriate knowledge and experience. Specific training will be provided. Our programme delivers screening services from three hospitals - RUH, GWH and SDH. While some travel between sites will be required, work patterns are primarily in normal working hours. Bank holiday working is not required., As a registered, accountable, and autonomous nurse you are to always act in the best interests of your patients and take personal responsibility for your actions and decisions. GETTING TO WORK
We offer parking on site at Salisbury District Hospital, a daily charge applies. We encourage our staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible, and our Trust is well connected through the bus services to the city centre and other areas.
