Scrub Nurse

As a Scrub Nurse you will:

• Monitor and maintain a safe and sterile environment for the patient throughout the surgical procedure.
• To safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list
• Prepare and organise the clinical area to receive patients for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
• Coordinate and maintain adequate stock levels of drugs, stores and implants liaising with the Theatre Manager and / Procurement.
• Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information using various methods to ensure effective understanding.
• Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and prioritise the care for patients undergoing a surgical / anaesthetic procedure.
• Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Scrub Nurse to work in Southend University Hospital for short and long term placements as well as ad-hoc shifts in a variety of NHS Hospitals and Private Organisations., Current NMC/HCPC registration
• At least 1 years' post-graduate experience.
• 6 months recent UK experience within the last 3 years.
