Full Job Description

In this role, you will provide exceptional care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures, including orthopaedic surgeries. Your responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining the sterile field, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative period. This role demands a high level of expertise, commitment to patient advocacy, and adherence to the hospitals standards of excellence in surgical care.,

  • Act as the scrub practitioner during orthopaedic surgeries, maintaining a sterile field and providing essential support to the surgical team.
  • Assist in a range of surgeries, with a focus on orthopaedic procedures, while also supporting other specialties including Gynaecology, Urology, General, ENT, Plastic, and Breast surgeries as required.
  • Prepare and assemble all necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures. Ensure the theatre environment is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist in the positioning and draping of patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure. Monitor and respond to patient needs as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff to ensure seamless coordination during surgeries. Provide clear and concise communication regarding patient status and procedural needs.
  • Accurately record details of the surgical procedure, including instruments used, counts, and any relevant observations. Ensure that all documentation complies with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the post-operative care of patients, including cleaning and restocking the theatre, and preparing the environment for subsequent procedures.
