Scrum Master

Working with and as part of the wider Software Delivery function, responsible for coordinating the successful delivery of software related initiatives across the organisation within agreed frameworks.,

• Delivery Mindset - Delivering value and change at pace is crucial in such a fast paced environment. Make challenging but reasonable commitments to delivering on all fronts, and follow through on them proactively, motivating the wider teams to follow.


• Stakeholder Management - Managing stakeholders across the business and Tech & Data department, as well as third parties is vital to the role. Establishing strong working relationships across all levels of the group whilst fostering creative and challenging environments.


• Delivery Management Sub-Profession - Be a key contributor to the management of the sub-profession of delivery management within the software delivery function. This will include a combination of internal and 3rd party resources who are able to support our delivery of software successfully on all fronts.


• Delivery Success - Accountable for the successful delivery of software, from service to all change activities. Ensure that we are set up for success across all areas, operate consistently within standard ways-of-working, and can demonstrate performance on an ongoing basis. Work with a variety of external stakeholders to manage delivery, including budgets, plans, RAID and resourcing.


• Service and Security - Our delivery and maintenance of software must align with the technology objectives surrounding service and security. Play a leading role in considering and ensuring both elements in all that we do.


• Continuous Improvement - Using key performance indicators and metrics, identify and execute on areas for improvement and efficiencies on a continuous basis, balancing all demands and priorities across software delivery and from our external stakeholders.


• Leadership - Work as part of the collective Software Delivery team, providing clear direction and reporting across all software related initiatives, and deliver against a common vision.


• Contracts and Partners - A number of 3rd party partners will be utilised by software delivery, in the areas of resource, software and services. Ensure alignment within standard ways of working as set out by the Software Delivery function, whilst understanding contractual obligations and agreements with the third party, Ben is the Service Desk Manager in our IT Service Desk department in Head Office. He's been in his role for 5 months now, but part of the Travis Perkins Group for over 5 years. We spoke to him abou, Vaida is a Data Scientist within the Travis Perkins Group's Data Office function. Having joined us fresh out of university with a degree in Statistics, Mathematics, and Operational Research from Card
  
  Educated to degree level or above in Computer Science or other relevant subject, or equivalent industry experience.


• Evidence of operating within procedural frameworks to establish a successful software delivery process and adhering to established frameworks while faced with challenging situations


• Proven track record of delivering results with experience in adapting to unexpected changes with the ability to embrace those changes


• Ability to evaluate consumer feedback and instituting changes as necessary to manage expectations


• Demonstrable track record of embedding and implementing continuous improvements and value add initiatives


• Experienced in working with 3rd parties delivering software support and change


• Must have excellent people management and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.


• Established experience of managing the delivery of quality software solutions within a large organisation


• The ability to perform data analysis, usually based on metrics, to create or modify processes
