Full Job Description

  • Ensure that the team make progress and meet project delivery objectives;
  • Ensure that Scrum is understood and enacted;
  • Ensure that Scrum Team adheres to Scrum theory, practices and rules;
  • Ensure the priority order of outcomes is followed in selecting user stories for development and fixing bugs;
  • Facilitate estimation of products and user stories to allow accurate Sprint planning;
  • Align sprint planning to the development team's skillset and delivery velocity;
  • Help the team to reach consensus on what can be achieved during a Sprint;
  • Communicate Sprint delivery plans with relevant individuals and roles; and work with development team(s) to establish clear/visible sprint plans and goals.
  • Support Agile Development Teams in the development of "complex IT systems";
  • Ensure transparency and communications within a team/across multiple delivery teams and with wider project participants and stakeholders;
  • Evaluate progress and capability and adjust interventions accordingly;
  • Assess the scrum maturity of the team and organise and coach the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is comfortable for the team and organisation;
  • Review delivery team and make adjustments as the Sprint Team maturity and velocity evolve;
  • Organise and communicate effectively with a range of internal and external users;
  • Tailor communication to deliver design and prototype concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Communicate successfully with senior management within an organisation; and present written material to supplement/augment verbal or system based communication channels.
  • Use Agile development methodologies to develop "complex IT applications";
  • Plan and prioritise own workload to meet team objectives and delivery deadlines;
  • Work as part of an Agile development team;
  • Contribute to Iteration planning, regular stand-ups, and retrospectives.

    Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Use Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2005 (or later), or equivalent product, to support the management of requirements, code and releases in the development of IT applications using an Agile approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
