SE GMSA Programme Support Manager

The position is hosted by St George's University Hospital, but it is expected that the post holder work across the SE GMS partner Trusts and sites across our region as needed. The team usually come together once per week at the office space at Guy's Hospital, but days and location could change depending on space availability and need. You also have flexibility to work additional office days at either St George's Hospital or Guy's Hospital.
Whilst this role is offered on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2026, there may be the possibility to extend if additional NHS funding is secured., The South East GMS Programme Support Manager will provide project and business coordination across a portfolio of varied projects and services, supporting the effective delivery of our programme to embed equitable access to genomic medicine in South East England. A core focus of the role will be supporting our nursing and midwifery programme, but other projects will include our equality, diversity and inclusion workstreams and equity of access improvement initiatives.
The post holder will coordinate the planning and delivery of their assigned projects, including the development of project plans, systems to monitor progress, resolving challenges to delivery, working with available data to evidence improvements, and producing engaging and informative formats to communicate the outcomes and benefits of our work. They will also provide day to day business and operational support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of their assigned projects and the programme as a whole, including event planning and coordination, budget management, procurement support and recruitment support.
It is expected that the specific projects managed by the post holder will change over time as the portfolio of work changes., We support the systematic implementation of genomic medicine into routine care in line with the NHS genomics strategy and the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions. The GMSA enables providers to collaborate in the provision of consistent and accessible genomic medicine services for a large and diverse population of around 9 million people. We aim to combine clinical expertise, an excellent track record in research, education and training, and involvement from our patients and public to achieve a step change in delivering genomics medicine for our population. The NHS GMS Alliance's responsibilities include embedding equitable access to standardised end-to-end pathways of care, inclusive of genomic testing, clinical genetics and genomic counselling services through pathway transformation and multi-disciplinary education and training; supporting access to treatments and medicine optimisation driven by comprehensive genomic and diagnostic characterisation; and providing
clinical leadership and coordination across the Alliance geography.

The South East Genomic Medicine Service Alliance was formally established in December 2020 and is led by a partnership between Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
