Full Job Description

We are seeking a Seat Design & Test Engineer to be based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe, and to:

  • Lead the development of Front/Rear Seat from early concept phase to Start of Production.
  • Achieve Quality/Cost/Delivery KPIs for Seat development.
  • Create and lead Seat components and modules development schedule.
  • Ensure our Nissan Engineering & Design standards are achieved for each Seat development.
  • Ensure all Homologation & Regulation requirements for each applicable market are achieved through Good Design.
  • Manage and report supplier test validation and external laboratories test validation.
  • Manage suppliers QCD performance and communicate cross-functionally with other Design sections and other functions
  • Ensure "on-time" Design change releases according to project deadlines.
  • Identify and deliver Design to Cost opportunities by studying their technical feasibility and business case.
  • Lead development and market technical concern investigations.
  • Regular liaison with stakeholders in UK, Japan, Spain & France.
  • Report to the department Senior Engineer and Vehicle Project Management team.
  • Competitor benchmark and trend, research & analysis.

    The Seat Design & Test Engineer should have the following skills or experience:
  • Be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline or have relevant experience/be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate ideas effectively & adapt to differing cultural and business requirements
  • Competent with PC applications including Microsoft excel, word and project.
  • Be self-motivating, self-managing, pro-active and positive.
  • Have an energetic personality and be flexible regarding working practice and working hours.
