Full Job Description

This Second Permanent Secretary will be part of Treasury’s focus on growth policy formation and delivery; cover corporate and private finance and the institutions tasked with increasing investment; engage on major private and infrastructure projects across the Treasury’s portfolio; and be part of our engagement with business and other departments.
They will work with the Treasury Ministers and officials to:
1. engage with the business sectors by developing and maintaining relationships in order to understand their priorities and work in partnership with business to deliver the growth mission and wider Government priorities;
2. engage with departments on their policy and delivery agendas, especially on large investment and infrastructure projects across Government;
3. assist the building of further corporate finance capability inside the Treasury, and the formation and engagement with the National Wealth Fund and National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority, and help the Treasury to develop and consider alternative financing models for infrastructure projects;
4. work with the Minister for Investment in attracting and delivering sustained investment to the UK and how Government can leverage private investment into its priority areas, notably around its industrial strategy; and,
5. help engage the private sectors on the Government’s approach to regulation, trade and international engagement.
