Full Job Description

This post will support the entire histopathology administration department with responsibility for typing complex and lengthy patient reports on to the Pathology LIM system. The post holder will also prepare MDTs and file / book in cases as required. Other duties may include processing of outsourced biopsies, slide filling, handling and distribution of post and other admin duties to support the department.
With support and guidance act as a point of contact and be responsible for the dissemination of information, messages and enquiries for Histopathology Consultants, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members, other health professionals and staff within and external to the Trust where required.
The job holder will have some involvement with Clinicians and Service Managers across the Trust to ensure that patients are treated in accordance with the Trust's policy and procedures., Supports administration department in ensuring that the provision of a secretarial/ administration service for Histopathology is both effective and efficient and utilises all available resource including the secretarial support assistants.
Support the provision of the Histopathology Fast-Track cancer pathways ensuring that cancer / Fast-Track patients are reviewed and reported in line with local and national performance targets.
Support the preparation and delivery of Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings working with administrative and medical colleagues within our department and from other departments within the trust.
