AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations - from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

AWS is seeking a Security Assurance Analyst with a strong understanding and awareness of the role Assurance and Audit can play in upholding the highest security standards to our customers. The Security Assurance Analyst will be part of the team that provides oversight and governance to the services that connect AWS regions of differing security classifications.

AWS is delivering exciting and complex distributed systems, and the Security Assurance analyst is essential to how AWS operate and secure these.

Key job responsibilities

  • Establish auditing to facilitate the analysis of the processes in place for data flow control


  • Become a subject matter expert in our oversight and governance framework


  • Participate in the creation and ongoing management of the internal controls, policies, and procedures


  • Work with a range of AWS teams to gather evidence to confirm key controls exist across the environment


  • Communicate to key stakeholders how security and compliance controls are implemented


  • Communicate to leadership key risks and areas of process improvement


  • Seek diverse opinions and coordinate improvement efforts


  • Report and investigate non-compliance issues

    Experience in auditing IT processes, including working knowledge of key controls across a number of industry best practices


  • Proven analytical skills, and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses


  • Experience in security controls and IT security framework, audits, customer trust, control assessments, or risk assessments.


  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with web services, multi-tiered systems, workflow modelling and enterprise application integration


  • Experience assessing complex technical processes


  • Strong critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail


  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment and build effective working relationships inside and outside of the group


  • Good presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with our customers and technical teams.
