Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity working on an established and prestigious Transport for London account that is based across London. The London Underground contract is a 24/7, 365-day operation that will require the controller to support the site-based officers to provide a best-in-class service to the client's premises and its occupiers. To play an essential role in the development and agreement of the contract strategy, ensuring agreed strategy is met and exceeded. The night controller will work closely with the control room supervisor to provide effective site compliance through effective oversight of the operational site based team to ensure they are effective in all aspects of physical security, incident management, and health and safety.

Main Duties

Operations

-Ensure familiarity with all equipment required for the delivery of service especially in relation to CCTV Systems, Access Control Systems and patrol and incident management systems

-Ensure delivery of a prompt and adequate response to incidents at any of the client's premises in line with Company procedures and contractual requirements together with the compilation of incident reports.

-Ensure full understanding of escalation procedure for incidents through the CCTV and other support systems.

-Ensure Familiarity with all Assignment Instructions, policies, procedures and site-specific documentation.

-Ensure delivery of all reporting standards and requirements within the agreed timescale as per the Standard Operating Procedures.

-Ensure familiarity of all relevant legislation required for the role i.e. DSE, GDPR, CCTV Code of Practise etc.

-Liaise with other members of the Control Room and site-based security teams on a day-to-day basis to discuss operational requirements.

-Liaise with emergency services as requested and required.

-Carry out duties and requested tasks effectively and professionally at all times.

-Timely arrival prior to shift commencement to ensure a thorough handover/takeover of duties on post.

Security and Health & Safety

-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.

-Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.

-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.

-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Essential

-SIA Licence

-Competent in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook

-Excellent time keeping

-Being able to work under pressure and adapt to fluid developing situations

-Have a good and positive teamwork ethic and good communication skills

-Smart appearance

-Basic CCTV and Access Control Systems operational experience

-Precise recording of information along with experience of managing incidents and emergency situations

-Having a Pro-active approach towards the role

-The ability to take instruction and follow processes

-Ability to interrogate CCTV for investigations

-Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol medical

-Ability to pass LU track certification and Sentinel

Desirable

-CCTV License- Public Space Surveillance Awareness

-Good understanding of GDPR regulations

-Having a flexible and adaptable attitude.

-Ability to read basic map locations and use of W3W location finder
