Full Job Description

In a commercial role at JLR, you can reimagine the future of modern luxury. In teams focused on extraordinary customer experience, sustainability and forward-thinking. You'll work alongside strategically-minded problem-solvers supporting the transformation of our iconic house of brands - Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar - and our heritage-rich JLR Classic range. Becoming a proud creator of the exceptional starts here.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Working in the Technical Service department of a prestigious automotive OEM, you will be responsible for setting the service strategy for Security in relation to diagnostic and repair procedures, content, coverage and processes. This will involve defining how our retail technicians should understand key/phone/security and telematics status of our vehicles, how they can diagnose faults with onboard and/or offboard systems and what tools and systems they need to carry out repairs on these systems. The introduction of Phone-as-a-Key (PaaK) technology will present challenges and changes compared to our current key fob-based architecture and the role will involve influencing any necessary aspect of this in order to make the retailer and customer experience as good as possible, when service is needed.

You will work closely with Engineering, Global Customer Care teams, other Technical Service stakeholders and Retailers/Markets to define and lead this strategy and implement any changes needed to achieve the best outcomes. The role will encompass both existing/legacy campaigns to improve vehicle security, vehicle architectures currently in development/launch phase, and future strategy.

You will shape and drive the security diagnosis and repair strategy so that future programmes have serviceability at the heart of their design.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • To provide a world-class experience in diagnostic and repair information & processes for our retailers

  • Being responsible for defining and driving an end-to-end service diagnostics and repair experience to retail technicians and customers for security and PaaK aspects

  • Input into the creation of diagnostic content for all vehicle programmes for security-related system (but not the creation itself)

  • Setting service requirements for engineering relating to Security, working with the Security Attribute owner and Service Attribute teams

  • Being responsible for security strategy for legacy vehicle / current vehicle campaigns

Background and experience in Electrical automotive systems and features, particularly security related ones (e.g. Telematics, Body Control, Key / Remote Function modules)

  • Motivation to understand and make retailer's lives easier

  • Ability to plan, coordinate and communicate ideas and actions

  • Ability to understand needs of stakeholders and influence them

  • Ability to work with others outside of the department in a positive and productive way

  • Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.
