Reporting to: Security Operations Manager Hybrid role: Flexible office days, 1-2 days a week in the office in Handforth (mandatory office day the first Monday of every month) About your role: This role presents a unique and exciting opportunity to work with the Security Operations Centre. The Security Engineer will deliver and manage technology solutions to protect Pets at Home and Vets for Pets business. You will implement and configure new and existing security tools, monitor the secure alerts, and help resolve security-related issues. About your responsibilities In this role, to achieve the overall above purpose, you will:
- Perform analysis and testing of various security solutions to identify the best cost/benefit solution
- Can perform/oversee UAT testing of a product prior to rollout
- Can perform a rollout of the product or service
- Can operate various security products
- Can work with experts in third parties and managed service providers to ensure the products and services are operating correctly
- Has regular review sessions to collate and check metrics
- Responds to a potential security incident
- Responsible for responding to a security incident
- Engages with external specialist companies for guidance
- Supports internal teams on correct response to security incidents
Knowledge of Cyber Security, tools and solutions - Understanding of NIST cyber security framework
- Understanding of MITRE attack framework Desirable, but not essential:
- CISSP
- CISM Your competencies:
- Demonstrable evidence of clear reporting to core governance groups and stakeholders
- Change and release management experience
- Results driven with an ability to plan and organise self and others to achieve objectives and targets
- Strong communication with an ability to articulate strategies, visions and desired outcomes
- Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders
- Clear articulate and confident communicator
Salary: £30k -£40k (depending on experience)
