Full Job Description

Position: Security Manager Location: Remote (covering the North Midlands region) Work Pattern: Monday-Friday. Day-time hours Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time Closing Date: 22nd November, 2024 DHL has an exciting opportunity based within our Operations Excellence division, for a Security Manager to join the team! Our global and regional security experts help to exceed customer expectations to supply chain security and support the economic success of our company now and in the future. The function provides security standards and guidelines as well as end-to-end security risk assessments and solution support for the DHL supply chain customers. What are the key responsibilities in this role?

  • To adapt and co-ordinate the implementation of the DSC Regional Security polices and standards
  • Ensure fundamental security objectives of protection of people, physical & customer assets, sensitive internal information and public reputation are achieved.
  • Reduce risk exposure with the implementation of unified DHL Security standards by risk classification and audits
  • To ensure that DSC security requirements are fully implemented within area of designated responsibility.
  • Manage/review/investigate security related incidents within area of responsibility and report metrics / trends and root causes to line & sector management.
  • Ensure roll out in country of risk assessment, audit and security training programmes.
  • Ensure holistic view on security costs and costs transparent to business and maintain budgets and Profit and Loss statements.
  • Ensure customer value through optimised security performance.
  • Reduce losses and security incidents and security related claims.
  • Security risk levels and gaps identified and corrective action progress reported.
  • Cost efficiency and resource optimisation; to support when required regional security representative on all security related projects within Cluster.
  • Positive customer feedback and security seen as business differentiator.
  • To be successful for this role, what do we need from you?
  • Previous experience operating in security management or Law enforcement position is essential
  • Investigation and Audit experience & knowledge is essential
  • Experience of Security Management within Supply Chain & logistics environment would be desirable.
  • Desirable TAPA Certified
  • Preferably certification as a result of courses from professional security bodies PSP / CPP / CFI
  • Preferably experience of working with industry groups such as AEO / C-TPAT / Aviation Security (CAA)
  • Able to travel to multiple sites within the North Midlands region.
