- Mitie has a great opportunity for a Retail Security Officer to join the Team.
- Retail Security Officers are required to cover various shift patterns as well as being flexible in their approach to working locations and potential changes to working patterns. Main Duties
- The security officer will demonstrate their character as trustworthy, attentive, and approachable when welcoming clients and customers
- To always add a courteous greeting and excellent customer service
- As the first point of contact for all customers and clients, the security officer must be geographically aware of their local surroundings.
- You will be able to protect customers and colleagues from physical and verbal abuse, also deterring violence and public order offences
- Respond to any on site incidents and request for assistance from emergency services or Duty Manager if required
- Reporting to the Security Operations Manager - they must record, report, and escalate all incidents using the process/system/technology as required throughout their shift. Training
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
- To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
- Use technology to achieve objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development. Security and Health & Safety
- Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
- To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all serious incidents. What we are looking for
- The security officer will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
- Able to work on their own initiative.
- Retail Security experience preferable.
- Flexible Approach to work to suit the business needs with an ability to work with different teams as required
- Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
- Capability in the use of technology
- An ambassador for great customer service
- It is important the Security Officer is calm under pressure.
- Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
- Frontline Door Supervisor or Security Guarding License essential.
