Security Officer

This is a shift-working position, based in Gloucester, although successful candidates may also have to provide occasional support at our Bristol premises (Transport will be provided, or any costs reimbursed). You will be part of a team providing security services, including maintaining site security and integrity; patrolling; monitoring CCTV and managing visitors. Successful candidates will need to undergo extended security (DV) clearance prior to employment.

Responsibilities.

-Control access to the site/building permitting only authorised personnel.

-Using the Access Control System and CCTV, monitor/manage activity on site and in the immediate vicinity.

-Perform internal, external and fence patrols of the site and building

-Perform daily checks of alarm systems and system health.

-Monitor and respond to on-site alarm systems.

-Provide a visitor reception service as/when required.

-Provide an out-of-hours MDL Service Desk service, escalating issues as necessary.

-Provide cover for other members of the security team as required.

-Perform random entry and exit searches.

-Deter and detect unauthorised entry to site.

-Detect and deter any damage/vandalism and report as necessary.

-Where necessary, deal with suspect packages in accordance with agreed procedures.

-Provide security services across two sites.

-Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks/responsibilities as directed/required by line management.

-Be flexible and adaptive to providing cover/support for absent colleagues

Previous experience in the security field is useful but not essential

-SIA Licence holder and CCTV trained

-Good Communication skills

-IT Literate

-Customer focused approach
